Let me introduce myself, my name is Darlene and I’m the founder of Bo the Lobster. After having worked in fashion for years, the birth of my niece opened the door to the wonderful world of children’s fashion. After years of dreaming, I finally decided to start my own shop, filled with the brands that helped create memories of my nieces and nephews playing and laughing.
Our goal is to build an online store filled with brands that are sustainable yet made of such high-quality that they can be enjoyed from generation to generation.
Our concept
Being based in our hometown of Amsterdam as well as the island Mallorca, we’ve noticed that it’s hard to find light summer clothing in wintertime. Just like it’s a challenge to find warm and cozy winter clothes during the summer. That is why we decided to offer both summer and winter clothing all year round.
Our concept wouldn’t be complete without a classics collection. This consists of timeless pieces and brands that are perfect for everyday wear. These brands are selected with comfort, style and durability in mind, so that they can withstand the daily adventures of childhood.
What’s in a name
Our name is a combination of the two loves of my life. My always smiling son Hunter (who's zodiac sign is cancer, hence 'the lobster') and my beautiful and caring niece Otis Bo. They are the lights in my life and the reason why this shop was created, so it seemed only fitting that it would carry their names.
Giving back
We believe that an act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a difference. That is why at the end of each (fiscal) year, we donate to several charities benefiting children worldwide.
